COVINGTON, LA. – Former St. Tammany Assistant District Attorney Vincent Wynne, with more than 26 years of experience as both a prosecutor and attorney, announced today that he will be a candidate for District Attorney for the 22nd Judicial District Court representing both St. Tammany and Washington Parishes. Vincent Wynne has been a lifelong Republican.

Wynne served as a St. Tammany Assistant District Attorney from 1997 through 2005.  During his tenure as a prosecutor, Wynne tried thousands of cases. Wynne also served as City Attorney/Prosecutor for the City of Covington for six years. He also served as a prosecutor in the Abita Springs Mayor’s Court and currently serves as prosecutor for the Village of Sun.

After successfully managing his private practice, the Wynne Law Firm, L.L.C., where Vincent Wynne strengthened his skills in civil litigation, he helped form Wynne, Goux & Lobello, Attorneys at Law, L.L.C., now Wynne & Goux, Attorneys at Law, L.L.C. For over 26 years, Vincent has represented corporations, municipalities, governmental agencies, families, and individuals in areas including Acquisitions, Business, Contracts, Construction, Criminal, Health Care, Real Estate and Successions.

Wynne regularly practices in St. Tammany, Washington, Tangipahoa, Livingston, East Baton Rouge, Orleans, Jefferson, and Plaquemines Parishes.  He is admitted to practice in all courts in the State of Louisiana as well as the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana. Wynne is a member of the Louisiana Association for Justice, the American Association for Justice, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Greater Covington Bar Association, and the 21st JDC Bar Association.

Said Wynne, “If we are to remain one of the safest parishes in Louisiana, we will have to ensure that the office of District Attorney is a no-nonsense, by-the-books prosecutorial arm of justice. The next District Attorney will have to work with all divisions of justice to keep violent criminals off  our streets.  We  will have to  achieve more with less. It will be the responsibility of the next District Attorney to  be both  efficient and effective.  I am trained and tested for the task.”

Wynne, 52, is a graduate of Mandeville High School, Louisiana State University and Loyola University New Orleans School of Law. Vincent F. Wynne, Jr. and his wife, Katie, reside on their blueberry farm in Waldheim, Louisiana. Wynne has 3 children, Emma (23) recent graduate of LSU Nursing, Marguerite (21) student at Louisiana State University and Ralph (18) student at St. Paul’s School.
